EERO SAARINEN GROSSER TULIP TABLE
The influences of architecture and nature for the Tulip Table by Eero Saarinen are obvious. The flowing shape of this table made of fiberglass is very particular. The one-legged construction tapers in a funnel-shaped base and transforms to a circular stand. The Tulip Table is one of the most famous designs by Eero Saarinen on behalf of his furniture design. His various designs of the Tulip Chair match perfectly.
The first drafts for the Tulip Table were sketched in the 1940s during a series of studies of the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The artist, originated from Finland, was in contact with many persons of well-known names as, for example, Charles Eames, during his creational time.
